The insured pays a monthly premium for Part B. The Part B premium will be automatically deducted from the client’s benefit payment if she or he gets benefits from the Railroad Retirement Board, Social Security or Office of Personnel Management.
If the insured doesn’t get these benefit payments, he/she will get a bill.
In most cases, the insured pays the standard premium amount. In some cases, he/she has to pay an Income Related Monthly Adjustment Amount (IRMAA).
The standard monthly premium for Medicare Part B is currently $144.60. The annual deductible for Part B is $198.
